This full-day experience combines some of the most iconic landscapes of Vágar with a unique sightseeing adventure from the sea. It is designed for cruise guests who want to see more, go a little deeper, and experience the Faroe Islands from more than one angle, without rushing.
We leave the harbour by coach and head west to Vágar. Our first stop is in Sandavágur, a small coastal village with views across the fjord and out towards the open ocean. From here, we continue to Sørvágsvatn, where we stop by the statue of Nykurin and hear the story behind this mysterious figure from Faroese folklore, set against the dramatic landscape around the lake.
From there, we drive to Bøur, one of the most picturesque villages in the Faroe Islands. Here, we take time for a gentle stroll through the village, with views towards Tindhólmur and the Drangarnir sea stacks. This is where the tour shifts from land to sea.
In Bøur, we board small open boats and head out on the water for a scenic zodiac tour along the coast. From the sea, we experience Múlafossur waterfall in Gásadalur, the dramatic cliffs of Tindhólmur, and the iconic Drangarnir sea stacks from a completely different perspective. The scale of the landscape is best understood from the water, where the cliffs rise straight out of the Atlantic.
The day is paced to allow for both memorable scenery and breathing room, with flexibility built in for weather and conditions.
This tour offers a balanced mix of landscapes, stories, and experiences, and is ideal for guests looking for a comprehensive and memorable introduction to Vágar.
