Walking Tour of Paamiut
Walking Tour of Paamiut
1 hour 30 minutes
Paamiut in Greenlandic translates to "the people of the mouth," a moniker that pays homage to its place at the entrance of Kuannersooq Fjord. While buildings once showcasing the whaling and fur trades of old are slowly replaced, the area holds a treasure that can still be discovered: ancient trails. When travelers arrive, the locals of Paamiut are warm and welcoming, and proudly share the unique aspects of their city. Join the tour and explore an authentic, small Greenlandic town on foot. Along the way, you'll visit the fish and meat market, view the museum area (exterior only), the church (exterior), the town center and a workshop/souvenir store. Lastly, make your way to the harbor along the canal lined with smaller boats.
