Master-class and tasting of coastal dishes in BRO Restaurant.

Meet your guide at the pier and have a walk of Ålesund. During a 40-minutes’ stroll you will have a chance to learn about the fishing legacy of Alesund that from mid-19th century became the center of the fishing industry. Ålesund was voted by National Geographic as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The city contains some of Europe's best examples of Art Nouveau architecture.

The highlight of the destination is fresh, world-class seafood. BRO, an excellent local restaurant, invites you on a journey through what we call coastal gastronomy. It is a Nordic restaurant that focuses heavily on what the local and Norwegian coast has to offer. The menu changes with the seasons so you can experience the local food culture in a new way. The breathtaking view of Brosundet and the staff's knowledge of food and drinks offer you a unique overall experience. Upon arrival at BRO Restaurant you will taste 3 types of snacks based on seafood and Norwegian traditions accompanying by a glass of cider from Skarbø Gård, a local applefarm here in Ålesund. The front of house manager will talk to you about the cider production. After snacks proceed to the open kitchen where the headchef Skyler Milner will show you some culinary tricks and will talk to you about the menu that you are having. Then you will try to open scallops and rinse langoustine yourselves. Then you will be seated, and the chefs will serve, and explain the dishes. Your 4-course seafood lunch menu for today is: Norwegian handdived scallops, Langoustine from Misund, Clippfish from Dybvik, Norwegian strawberries and rhubarb.

BRO Restaurant was established by Ronny Kolvik, who has a long experience in Oslo, at restaurants such as Arakataka, Ylajali and Palace Grill. He has won Olympic gold with the national culinary team from 2008. Chef Skyler Milner has worked at several renowned restaurants in Canada and New Zealand. He moved to Ålesund in 2020 to work with BRO, and is now responsible for developing BRO further. Today is a unique opportunity for you to meet a passionate chef, upgrade your culinary skills and savour delicious Norwegian seafood cuisine. Bon appetite!
