Royal Oslo incl. Oscarshall After Hours
4 hours
You will start your tour with a transfer to the Royal Palace for an interior visit. The Royal Palace is the actual residence of the Royal family in Norway. During the summer, they spend time at one of their other homes and allow the public (by guided tours only) to see their residence, in the true socialist spirit of Norway.
The guided tour takes you through some of the most important and lovely rooms. You will visit the Bird Room where all those seeking an audience with His Majesty The King wait to be announced, as well as the Ballroom and the Banqueting Hall.
Enjoy the lush nature beauty, grandiosity and freshness during a pleasure walk through the Palace Park featuring the recently officially unveiled by Her Majesty The Queen and Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess iconic sculpture Maman by one of the most influential artists of the 1900s Louise Bourgeois.
Next, you will have a panoramic drive to Oscarshall – Royal summer palace of the Royal Family by Frognerkilen on the Bygdøy peninsula.
Enjoy a private specially guided tour after-hours at Oscarshall. Oscarshall was built from 1847 to 1852 by Danish architect Johan Henrik Nebelong, commissioned by King Oscar I, and since 1863 it has been at the King's disposal. It is considered neo-Gothic masterpieces in Norway, and is one of the country's main national romantic memorials. The grounds include a main building, a park that leads down to the water and an open pavilion.
After the tour is complete, walk to the coach for a comfortable transfer back to the port.
