Offshore Windmill Climbing & Copenhagen City Tour

The Offshore Windmill Tour offers you a unique opportunity to visit and climb to the top of one of the largest wind farms in the world - the Middelgrunden Offshore Windmill Park at the time of its construction in 2001 

The tour starts in Copenhagen with a ride to Toldboden Promenade, where you will be picked up and provided with the necessary safety instructions and safety equipment for the tour. You will then take the boat RIB directly to the Middelgrunden offshore wind farm, where you will get a close-up view of the 20 impressive wind turbines before the boat docks at wind turbine 20.

The guided tour will allow you to experience the inside of such a wind turbine and even climb to the top. You will have the opportunity to hear the story behind the turbines and enjoy the incredible view at the top of the 64-metre high wind turbine! During the tour, our guides will talk about the construction and maintenance of the wind farm, as well as the actual generation of electricity.

During the ascent, we will guide you through the inside of the turbine tower and let the excitement build up to the grand finale by climbing to the top of the turbine. Here you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the other wind turbines, the old sea forts of Oeresund, Copenhagen and Oeresund itself.

Middelgrunden was hailed as the largest offshore wind farm in the world when it opened in 2001. The wind farm is located 3.5 km off the Danish coast. The wind farm produces up to 85,000 MWh of electricity annually, which accounts for about three percent of Copenhagen's total electricity consumption.

The weather and wind conditions can have a big impact on this tour. We, therefore, reserve the right, in certain cases, to convert the RIB boat sailing into the sailing within the Copenhagen harbour along with an ascent in a wind turbine on land. We also reserve the right to cancel in full based on bad weather conditions, wind turbine service or anything beyond our control. If we choose to cancel the trip completely, you will be refunded the full amount.
