Explore Sustainable Copenhagen

The "green" agenda is increasingly winning the hearts of people around the world. But not all cities and countries are able to put environmentally friendly ideas into practice. We show you how Copenhagen has managed to solve some of its environmental problems and find solutions in different areas.

The tour starts with a sightseeing tour of Copenhagen, viewing the main sights on the way to Copenhill. We will then visit the outside of the unique garbage factory-ski resort Copenhill, which impresses with its technology, architecture and panoramic view from the roof. You will climb to the roof and visit a local bar and have some free time to look around. 

Spectacular and innovative in the truest sense of the word. That is CopenHill. The artificial ski slope and recreational hiking area opened in fall 2019, built on top of the new waste management center. What sounds like a science fiction fantasy has been reality since the power plant opened in 2017 under the name ARC (Amager Resource Center).

The playful design and, of course, the ski slope at the top will combine to create a whole new way of thinking about how to use urban resources and build waste-to-energy plants that will be welcomed by the inhabitants. CopenHill is one of the steps towards Copenhagen's goal of becoming the world's first carbon-neutral capital.

Afterwards, you will drive to the former Refhalsøen shipyards, see the creative quarter and walk around.In recent years, the former industrial district has become one of the hippest areas of Copenhagen and a centre for creativity, alternative urban development, festivals and good food of various kinds. Easily accessible the island is an integral part of the city but has an identity all its own.

Then visit the bar of the local brewery, which has gained worldwide recognition in the field of craft beer brewing. Enjoy a light lunch and be sure to try the freshly brewed craft beer.
