Private RIB-boat Ride. Aga Sideri Visit & Tasting.

Today you are going to know about cider production and will taste Norway's best cider. You will board the RIB-boat in Ulvik after tendering ashore and will sail to Aga Sideri. The captain will explain how the region is suited for growing apples and making cider and will make a stop under the suspended bridge "Hardangerbrua" (30 m longer span than Golden gate).

Aga Sideri is situated idyllically on the west side of the Sørfjorden in Ullensvang. Award-winning* Hardanger Cider is produced here. In an ideal climate for apple cultivation, up and coming cider maker Joar Aga grows, presses and converts apples into noble cider drops. Joar and his family live on this orchard, surrounded by steep slopes and apple trees. Joar Aga is a seventh-generation farmer at Aga, and started Aga Sideri in 2018. The farm is close to both mountains and fjords, surrounded by cultural heritage. Here in Sørfjorden there is an excellent climate for fruit cultivation, as well as a rich tradition of cider production. Aga Sideri is a member of HANEN** and SIDERKLYNGA HARDANGER***.

You’ll arrive by RIB-boat at their newly built dock, enjoy a tour of the Sideri ending with a cider tasting (4 types of ciders (or 3 ciders + apple juice) with cheese and snacks and homemade bread) in the converted cow-barn.

Then proceed for a guided tour in the historic Agatunet, a traditional Norwegian village located just a few minutes walking. Agatunet is one of the few remaining and the largest listed historic hamlet in Norway. It consists of 45 listed houses, the oldest from the Middle Ages, and ten associated boathouses. The main building is the Lagmannstova, the oldest documented courtroom in Norway. It was built by the knight and lawmaker Sigurd Brynjulvson Aga around 1220. Enjoy a cup of coffee and "lefse" (a typical Hardanger roll) in one of the houses.

After the museum visit you'll return back to Ulvik by a RIB-boat to board your cruise ship.
